- Gulf Coast mini-baccarat hold rose 69.9% to $6.34 million as drop climbed 23.6% to $40.99 million.
- Casinos kept 15.46% of drop against 11.25% a year earlier, and that higher rate supplied about two-thirds of the gain.
- The 47 tables averaged $134,836 each, up 80.8%, and no other table type in any region averaged more.
- Through nine months, Gulf Coast mini-baccarat hold is up 13.7% to $45.5 million, well below September’s 69.9% jump.
BILOXI, Miss. – Mississippi baccarat revenue from the Gulf Coast’s mini-baccarat tables reached $6.34 million in September 2026, up 69.9% from $3.73 million a year earlier, the Mississippi Gaming Commission’s September tables hold report shows. Drop, the money players exchange for chips, rose 23.6% to $40.99 million, and casinos kept 15.46% of it, up from 11.25% in September 2025.
The Hold Rate Supplied About Two-Thirds Of The Gain
At September 2025’s 11.25% hold, this September’s $40.99 million of drop would have produced about $4.61 million. The higher rate therefore supplied roughly $1.73 million of the $2.61 million increase, and the extra $7.84 million of drop supplied the other $0.88 million. Each point of hold was worth about $410,000 on that drop, so the 4.2-point rate gain counted for more than the heavier play.
Hold is not the house edge. Banker carries a 1.06% baccarat house edge under standard eight-deck rules and Player 1.24%, the share of each bet the house expects to keep over the long run. Hold divides win by drop, and drop counts a buy-in once however many times the chips are wagered, so it runs far above any single bet’s edge. The report carries no rules, bet-mix or wager totals, so it cannot say what moved the rate.
Monthly Hold Has Ranged From 6.2% To 17.3% Since November 2024
Across the commission’s 23 monthly reports since November 2024, Gulf Coast mini-baccarat hold ran from 6.18% in December 2025 to 17.32% in January 2026, and September’s 15.46% ranks fifth-highest. In August the casinos kept $3.49 million, a 9.19% hold on 57 tables, so September’s win was 81.6% higher on 10 fewer tables.
The year-earlier comparison was soft. September 2025’s 11.25% sat 1.4 points below the 12.61% hold for January through September 2025, so the 69.9% gain measures against a below-average month. Summed across the commission’s monthly reports, hold for the first nine months of 2026 is up 13.7% from $40.1 million, at 13.49% of $337.6 million in drop.
Mini-Baccarat Supplied 26.6% Of Gulf Coast Table Hold
The $6.34 million was 26.6% of the $23.84 million the report totals for the Coastal region, as the commission labels the Gulf Coast, up from 20.8% of $17.92 million a year earlier. Mini-baccarat supplied about 44% of the $5.92 million increase in Coastal table hold. All 47 of the state’s mini-baccarat tables sit on the Coast, according to the commission’s Gaming Devices Report on tables.
Mississippi licenses no online casino, so the commission’s figures describe in-person play only, a separate market from the live-dealer tables at the best baccarat sites.
Hold Per Table Topped Every Game In Every Region
The commission’s hold-per-table column puts mini-baccarat at $134,836, against $74,579 in September 2025. The next-highest figures in the report are Northern craps at $130,503 and Coastal craps at $111,746, and the $134,836 also tops every month in the 23 reports since November 2024, ahead of January 2026’s $129,069.
Drop per table rose 31.5% to $872,115, because three fewer tables handled 23.6% more drop. Fewer tables concentrate play without changing what a single bet costs.
IP Casino Resort Spa Lists No Mini-Baccarat Tables After Seven In August
The commission’s table-count workbook shows IP Casino Resort Spa with no mini-baccarat tables in September after seven in August and six in September 2025, and with seven full-size baccarat tables where it listed none in either earlier month. Golden Nugget Biloxi went to seven mini-baccarat tables from nine in August and Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort to six from seven, which together with IP’s seven accounts for the drop from 57 tables to 47.
Against September 2025, IP’s six fewer tables outweighed a net gain of three at other casinos.
The hold report has no line for full-size baccarat, which the commission’s count puts at nine Coastal tables against two a year earlier, so whatever those tables won sits outside the $6.34 million. It does not report results by casino either, so it cannot say whether the change at IP moved the Coast’s hold.
October Figures Should Follow In Mid-November
The commission posted its last five monthly hold reports between the 15th and 19th of the following month, which points to October’s mini-baccarat figures around mid-November.
